New home for Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic opens

“Fanfares for the celebration”, Maksymiuk’s few-minutes-long piece specially composed for the occasion, will inaugurate the opening of the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic’s new building on September 28, 2012. The piece has been written for the orchestra, trumpets, bells, kettledrums and choir.

New record with Janusz Olejniczak

In early September Janusz Olejniczak recorded Ravel’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in G Major, Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto no. 1 in D-flat Major and Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto no. 2 in F Major with Sinfonia Varsovia at the S-1 Studio in Warsaw. Jerzy Maksymiuk conducted on the recording which will be released by SONY to celebrate the pianist’s 60th birthday. A gala concert will be held on October 2.
